Sniff, Scrape, Crawl "¦
"Sniff, Scrape, Crawl"¦" is an ongoing interdisciplinary research project. Through a series of workshops, debates, lectures and presentations, the thematic project was launched with this event in the beginning of 2011 at the Piet Zwart Institute, Master Media Design and Communication in the department of Networked Media. It brought together artists, programmers and theorists, looking at how surveillance and data-mining technologies shape and influence our lives and the consequences they have on our civil liberties, examining the porous borders of privacy in the digital age.
Speakers: Aymeric Mansoux (Puredyne GNU/Linux, make art festival, Floss+Art), Joris van Hoboken (currently doing his PhD research on search engines and freedom of expression at the Institute for Information Law at the University of Amsterdam) and Nicolas Malevé (data amateur and member of Constant)
