Constant is looking for an intern (x/f/m) for Constant Calibre
Constant is looking for an intern interested in art and experimental publications, active archives and online libraries. The intern will be responsible for updating, cataloguing and enriching Constant’s physical and digital library. The intern will be invited to participate in ongoing discussions within the team regarding the improvement of the organisation’s digital database and archives.
The trainee will also have the opportunity to participate in the day-to-day life of the organisation and to gain an overview of its functioning. They will be in contact with various open source working tools (software, organisational, knowledge sharing, etc). For example, the internship will be an opportunity to learn how to use Calibre, the catalogue system that Constant uses for its digital library (https://calibre-ebook.com/)
Specifically:
- improve the layout of catalogues and magazines in the physical library of Constant’s office
- work in Calibre:
- specify the cataloguing
- enter the contents of the physical library
- update the database
Trainee profile
- Interest in publishing, archives and online libraries

- Open-mindedness
- Organisational skills
- Proficiency and comfort with IT tools
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Mother tongue FR and/or NL with a very good command of the second language, good knowledge of English
- Examples of education: Library and documentation studies and/or graphic design, communication, human sciences, cultural management ...
Previous experience and knowledge of bibliographic tools, in particular free software (Ubuntu, LibreOffice, Etherpad, Calibre, etc.), are an asset.
Internship conditions
Half-time or quarter-time internship - schedule and duration adaptable on demand. Unpaid, travel allowance available
