Code Tasting / Graphical Shell prototype (GSp)

At this autumn Code Tasting, we’ll try out Graphical Shell, a prototype
developed by Pierre Marchand in the context of the Libre Graphics
Research Unit. His proposal links the ’tick’ of a program to the rhythm of design
through motioned histories, streaming and messaging. The idea behind the
Graphical Shell prototype (GSp) is that you can access and manipulate
digital objects in their computing-oriented representation from the
canvas. You can write what you do, as part of your design practice and canvas
manipulation and scripting become part of the same experience.

The tasting is followed by a discussion on ’canvas’ vs ’code’, and the
particular vocabularies of Shell and lay-out. Please bring food to sample!
