The Scandinavian Institute of Computational Vandalism: The movie
To round off the installation The Scandinavian Institute of Computational Vandalism we are glad to invite you to the première of the film Constant Vitrine directed by haarcascade_frontalface_default.xml.
What happens when a camera, an image database and software for optical face recognition are installed 24/7 in the window facing a busy city street?
It will be also an occasion to re-discover the project based on the Scandinavian Institute of Comparative Vandalism (SICV) founded by Asger Jorn which experiments with the practice of collage, the forces of photography, image archives, and political imaginaries. Today Computational Vandalism challenges the assumptions at the basis of computer vision, the discipline that programmatically ties together the
visual and the mnemonic.
For all those interested in codes, sources and other technical aspect of the project, there will be a behind the scene//s//- making off discussion with archive activists Michael Murtaugh and Nicolas Malevé from 16:00 to 17:30.
