Research meeting: Co-position
The second ’Research meeting’ organised by the Libre Graphics Research Unit takes place in Brussels. LGRU is a collaboration between Medialab Prado (Madrid), Worm (Rotterdam), Piksel (Bergen) and Constant. Developers, designers and theoreticians from all over Europe will gather to imagine future Libre Graphics tools together.
The upcoming research meeting Co-position focuses on digital tools for arranging texts and other graphic elements: How can we re-imagine lay-out from scratch? What tools do we need to support decentralized collaboration? How can we understand what workflows, distributions of work and media are coded into our tools? Can we bring canvas editing, dynamic lay-outs, web-to-print and Print On Demand together in more interesting ways? What kind of messages do we propagate and how does this change the tools we need?

Onderzoeksbijeenkomst: Co-position
Van 22 tot 25 februari vindt een tweede ’Research meeting’ plaats in Brussel. De bijeenkomst wordt georganiseerd door de Libre Graphics Research Unit, een samenwerking tussen Medialab Prado (Madrid), Worm (Rotterdam), Piksel (Bergen) en Constant. Ontwikkelaars, ontwerpers en theoretici uit heel Europa zullen samenwerken aan toekomstige Libre Graphics tools.
Het thema voor deze editie is Co-positie, en we zullen speculeren over software voor het organiseren van teksten en grafische elementen. Hoe kunnen we opnieuw nadenken over lay-out, los van de tools die we al kennen? Welke gereedschappen hebben we nodig om gedecentraliseerde samenwerking te ondersteunen? Hoe kunnen we bewerkingen op een canvas, dynamische lay-outs, web-to-print en Print On Demand bij elkaar brengen? Deze en nog veel meer vragen zullen worden behandeld in vier intense dagen met presentaties, discussies, ontwikkel- en prototyping sessies.
