A radio conversation between two groups of inhabitants around the use of language in the neighbourhood. The questions: do we speak in the same language with people we know, with friends, family or strangers ? Are these languages inviting or exclusive? Secret codes or universal tongies? What are the words used in different situations and circumstances?

The conversations takes place behind closed doors, but can be overheard on the pavement. Coffee and tea will be served. Conversation will be in French mixed with all the languages the participants desire.

What is Radio Berenkuil / La Cage?
Radio La Cage / Berenkuil is a hyper local amateur radio station. Be there or miss it! The broadcast conversations aim to collect special, quirky, extraordinary, pidgin words that are specific to the Brussels neighbourhood Schaerbeek. This ’Schaerbeek Language’ that grows over a period of three years frames in the neighborhood contract Portaels-Navez.
