We would like to invite you for a session to take a look at the Trickster as the embodiment of the smuggler figure. An occulture process. Together we will work on invisibility, disappearing in the ultra technological system, and how to stop fearing boundaries.

In the Mexican coyote cartography, the fire was kept by a circle of unreachable flies, the world outside of the circle was left in the darkness. The coyote ran inside and put its tail on fire and then she burned the forest around; by this act the fire was set free and became accessible for everyone again.
By this holistic figure, we will explore counter knowledge. We will play together with the camouflage of our inner self, and looking for strategy to confront the surveillance technologies. This technopaganism workshop, will involve our body as a weapon, shapeshifting, discomfort, grey zone. Developing a language without words, as they listen to our whispers, we play with how the information we transmit can only become visible between the ones we trust.

Bio:

I'm Barb from "barbare" the one that don't speak the langage. Or Tipoe, Brad Pity, Maislusine, Barbaricade … other algorithms that i use inside the system to adapt . I'm a gatherer, a hopecore, a trans being, a spiritual anarchist. Living in the neuro_divergent pleasure world , with ptsd forces , that often drag me into the void. From this void I'm making swamps relying on radical resistance.

This session is part of a research trajectory initiated in collaboration with Constant's "cobwebs". This research is supported through the framework of one of Constant's artistic commission of 2026.

Seonmin's Weft on Care, Pigeons, and the unseen

In the context of the yearly theme Otherworldly communications we have invited Antwerp-based visual artist Seonmin Park, whose practice engages with socio-political themes and the lives of marginalized beings, to share her experiences in a weft*.

In recent years, her focus has turned toward urban pigeons, animals often dismissed as pests, but deeply entangled in the life of the city. After a pivotal experience in 2024, when she rescued and cared for an injured pigeon harmed by plastic waste, It shaped her perspective and through this intimate act of care, questions of visibility, responsibility, and coexistence came into sharper focus.

In this weft, Seonmin reflects on transforming the unseen into presence and invites us to reconsider how we value the lives that exist alongside us.

Cauldron for conspiracy gathering

For the first session of the cyberwitching gatherings series, we invite you to come together in a collective moment of sharing and speculation around experimental tactics rooted in magickal practices and hacking legacies.

If witches are seen as energy benders, can we read programmers, guided by code, functions and the currents flowing through circuits as spell casters or magick potions? Can we create counter spells to infiltrate Ethernet cables, corporate server farms and shield ourselves from surveillance systems like biometric tracking, predictive policing algorithms, etc.? How do we lift the veil to get out of the spell that entraps us in cyber and techno dependencies to reclaim alternative technologies against technofascism?

We are organising a moment to meet on the 23rd of march 2026 at Constant studio, Chaussée de Jette 388 for a first get together. Bring your homemade spells, hacking stories and technodisobedient tactics to see how we can form a shared practice of cyberwitching.

WhatsApp alternatives

In many situations, instant messaging services are very useful. Many groups recognise this and use them extensively. If someone doesn't reply, a short message — on the same platform — ensures that important communication is not forgotten. How convenient! Not to mention that group messages and individual communications are all in the same application.

But the choice of application, and more specifically, the entity that owns it, is not as trivial as it seems. WhatsApp, the best-known service, is often imposed without any thought or consensus. And when we say it imposes itself, we mean that we impose it on those who want to join the group.

This workshop, offers in collaboration with 'Amis de la Terre', will be an opportunity to explore the issues involved in choosing a messaging platform, discover alternatives, and try one of them out in practice: Matrix.

ConfusingCodingClub pt.6 - Simmering Connections. Culinary Kinship in Action

Join us for this last session of the year where we introduce slow-simmered Cantonese herbal soup traditions through a shared commitment to speculative, intersectional, and embodied technologies of care. In this hands-on session, soup-making becomes both a medium and a method, which is a living technology that carries kinship, memory, metabolic and cultural knowledge. We will engage in a practice that resists extractive logics of efficiency, reclaiming domestic and sensory processes as rich sites of knowledge-making.

Cantonese Soup as a Fluid Archive is an ongoing artistic project through which Biyi explores kinship as a form of care that extends beyond blood relations, encompassing chosen, circumstantial, and interdependent forms of connection. From sensory memory to cultural knowledge and bodily nourishment, Biyi asks: how might we rethink kinship, not only through ancestry or genetics, but through the act of eating? What kinds of relationships become possible through shared metabolic entanglements, gendered labour, and the quiet wisdom of culinary care?

The act of touching, smelling, and tasting becomes an exchange between human and non-human ingredients, between past and present, between care as ritual, care as infrastructure and care as cultural making. Through shared gestures and collective nourishment, this workshop opens a space for reimagining what technology can mean when rooted in relationality, reciprocity, and lived experience.

We'll begin with an introduction to Chinese medicinal herbs sourced from the city's Chinese grocery stores, exploring their uses and meanings in traditional Cantonese soup-making. In this special deep-autumn session, Biyi will explain the core principles and key ingredients of Cantonese soup and guide participants in tailoring a soup that reflects the season of deep autumn.

Participants will break into small groups to create their own versions of herbal soup, guided by Biyi. You'll be encouraged to experiment, incorporate your own chosen (and brought) ingredients, and weave in personal memories and interpretations. While the soups simmer, Biyi will share stories of growing up with Cantonese soup, the domestic practice of traditional Chinese medicine, and her creative journey as a Cantonese migrant.

The session will conclude with a communal tasting, discussion, and sharing not only the soups created together but also the memories, stories, and recipes infused into each bowl.

Biyi Zhu is an interdisciplinary artist, performer and researcher born in Southeast China and based in the Netherlands, who works with video art, documentary and technology-integrated performance. Based on her own experiences, her work explores mobility, migration and coexistence, reflecting on how these forces shape identities, relationships and socio-political realities.

ConfusingCodingClub p.5 - Guided meditation into a Hyperscaler with Steven Jouwersma

Join us for yet another session of a confusing coding situations! This time we are joined by Steven Jouwersma* who will guide us through a meditation to a hyperscaler.

Hyperscalers are large and very adaptable data centres that scale their capacity to the ever changing flow of data. In the Hyperion cantos (1989) of science fiction writer Simmons, an AI called Ummon* appears. It is shaped like a blob, a non-form. This "blob" of shifting appearance is how we can understand a hyperobject like AI. It has no centre, although it seems to come together at places. The hyperscaler is such a place.

To grasp a hyperobject like AI, we will travel to one of its cores, and follow electrons through firewalls and fiber backbones.

You are invited to bring your telephone, as we will work with its capacities. Like matter and its counterpart antimatter, there must be data and antidata. When data and anti-data come into contact, they annihilate each other, which releases energy. If you can imagine an exact opposite of you at the other end of the universe, what does this anti-you do when you sing?

In his projects, Steven Jouwersma does not attempt to create fiction, but rather to place an unusual or alternative reality within reality. His method often focuses on the transformation of locally available material that gains meaning by giving it a new function. He seeks interaction with site-specific circumstances that set a process in motion.

XPUB 1 Public presentation at Houweling telecom museum

For the past three months, Imane and Martino from Constant have been working through the temporalities of times with the students of the special issue 27 at @xpub

Three threads have been guiding the sessions:

the micro-time of computer processes — the super-fast cycles happening constantly in digital infrastructures, continuously synchronized to super-precise frequencies;

the macro-time of geological formations — the crystals and minerals inside all electronic devices, the physical substrate that makes all computation possible, and the exploitative, environmentally destructive methods used to extract them;

the capitalist-time of work and labour — the production rhythms of societies and individuals, and the time-networks and infrastructures required to keep global activities in sync.

On Tuesday 1st of July, XPUB 1 students will present their special issue 27 event at the unobserved under-appreciated and wondrous telecom museum! Put it in your calendar, set a timer, count your sleeps and see you many many times ?

ConfusingCodingClub p.4 - Matrixing the oracle of the garden with Lucía

Continuing with our track of cyberwitching, Lucía* will join us at our studio to host a hands on workshop to map out the semiconductivity of the garden.

We will etch maps into printed circuit boards, that will serve as oracles.

During our divination ritual we will walk around the garden and, pouring earth, water and various plants from the garden on our map/circuit board, we will enter in dialogue with the elements. We will let the garden speak to us as lights and sounds emerging from the resulting electrical connections.

No experience required to join this workshop, bring your curiosity with you.

ConfusingCodingClub p.3 - Ancestral Clouds, Ancestral Claims

Join us for a day where we will connect to Constant's ongoing theme of Otherworldly Communications*, trying to attune to transmissions that come from elsewhere: from ancestors, from clouds, from unpayable debts.

*Otherworldly communications researches how different forms of life co/exist and circulate in the midst of damage and toxicity; it is an invitation to sit in the presence of these lives, toxic but nevertheless persistent.

We will watch Ancestral Clouds, Ancestral Claims, a film that lingers with inheritance—not just genetic, but atmospheric, historical, and extractive.
Alongside the screening, Tunde Adefioyé* will guide us through Denise Ferreira da Silva's Unpayable Debt, a book that reorients how we understand what is owed, what is carried, and what cannot be counted.

Together, we'll dwell in that strange static between frequencies: ancestral, clouded, networked. What messages pass between stones and servers? How do debts speak through time? Can we code with care, with refusal?
