ToDo: Add one line of your relation to collectively conditioned time to your reference in the pad
TO DO: Add one line to our 'profile' pad (that was shared beforehand by Femke) about how (much?) time would be used/spent/invested by each of us on the project/protocol that brought us here. Collectively/individually
How much time have you already dedicated to the project/protocol that
brought you hear? How much time can you imagine to still dedicate to it?

How do you think of a way to format/visualise time, in order to communicate in collective environments, as pluralist temporalities/rhythm that can relate to each other, and not juts collectively decide for one temporality/rhythm which everyone has to adapt to?
How do you fork time?
How do you version time?
Time is on the table — with the means at our hands, we always have something at hand to change everything at all times. Also questions from previous times, after the right moment to act can always be asked. Inbetween, we will attempt to inhabit time. After and before. Join us, please, when you have time.
This is an entire process of commoning — being here, listening, speaking, working, hanging out, making breaks, zooming in and out and hopefully, a good time, with or without a break. to disband binary oppositions and see time for the continuity that it is, a surround
If collectivity presupposes the sharing of time, how can the negotiation of time be articulated so as to reflect the different material circumstances, formal and informal preconditions of commitment?
Time and collectives <--> we are always (dis)agreeing on when is the best time to do X.
This brings to the common the individual notions of time
When we come together time establishes a role --> demand on what we want to do collectively.
Who decides when is the **right** moment? How is it decided?
Hierarchies in time lead to how we order it
co-timing
:
We have discussed perception of time and we are grounding back to the scheduling of collective time.
Luxury situation of spending multiple days together in physical space.
Time a scarce resourse, limited amount. Can you produce/reproduce time?
Is it time limited?
It has diferent scales?
Ways of circular times and different arrangements that configure other temporalities and dimension of time.
- Time as a resource (capitalist mechanical time):
linear, scarce, something you own and can be lost, time is money;
how we understand the time as "individual" time, so we loose our time?

How to look at time from a perspective that is not about scarcity?
The 'human' time scale presuposes a scarcity of time. If we think about time on non-human scales, does the scarcity change?
E.g., seconds scale in computers/machines
8 Hours = 28,800,000,000,000 nanoseconds
Consideration of non-human scales of time (non human animals, plants, ecosystems, geological eras and earth times, machines and bots times);
Individual times vs. collective times: The collective time is/may be a product of the individual times of the people involved.
Symbiotic time? --> what happens when you have a dependency (like a human or non human child - even though urgencies and temporalities are different) or a symbiotic relationship (can we differenciate dependency from symbiotic?), can you individually manage or take decisions on your time? how can you take into consideration the needs and desires of all parts in terms of timings?
how do can you rethink time so that the time taken from us could be considered in a collective perspective and not loose of individual time?
The shared pool of time
What time is more urgent? Also implies relation of power, eg. your boss temporality Vs a friend t., it poses a political question.
the plants can grow without me —a sense of elastic time?
We can be seen as interactions of microorganisms and 'me' as an individual. My time taking care of this interactions can affect the time I can use doing something else (e.g., if I feel tired/sick/out of balance my time will be different)
in tune / adaptation
schedule vs natural/biological time: eg. eating schedule vs necessity of the body to eat and assume aliments;
is there kinship in solitude?
As an artist you really need to spend time in solitude.
do you allow for different senses of time or do you want to synchronise with one time? the conflict between codes/contracts and pluralism
It is difficult to agree beyond the basics on collective time (.e.g. how would you include the time in the constant code of conduct... 'we pay attention to everyone who speaks' and how can you go beyond that).
A schedule is a way of ordering collective time. Agreeing on how we are situated/related/entangled/engaged.
you adapt your sense of time, your temporality, to the environment? human, more social —
does it matter if we, in collective conditions, we experience time subjectively different?
Logorrhoea: a tendency to extreme loquacity.
is time nec. moving towards a balance? a homeostasis?
experience/perception of time affect the way we think in time scales and schedule our time.
A framework for thinking on time collectively.
Visibility of time politics;
how do you complain about time? who do you complain to (the clock!)?
how much time do you need?
According to capitalism we are always late!
Late for the deadlines
Late to stop climate change
LATE!
Increasing pressure and capitalization of time.. every second we should be producing something.
Time is artificially scarce.
What processes do you set in motion?
Limiting is negatively connotated?
CoC including a notion of a sensitivity of time? or implications of time as commitment (precarity,...) in respect of a social contract?
what is the timing to talk about time?
Empathy towards other's time
iteration and accumulation
what is your time universe?
what would it be like to have here another room with out a time register (as distinict to the tight time schedule)
How can that time be generated, trained and lived?
how to make time for time? for time (in)competence, not management?
what are you thinking right now?
do you believe that time is on your side?
how long do you keep on trying until you give up?
Nothing escapes time, even the end of the world goes in and out of fashion. Who and what will never be in fashion?
if you fall out of time, do you always fall backward?
reversibility/irreversibility of time;
what does it mean: it is too late? is it?
does reversibility means coming back to the past or previous state or can other directions be applied that do not necessarily imply a restoration?
What does it need to talk about time?
How would you integrate time into a code of conduct?
surrendering to time: a passive relation
militant time - now! enough! stop! it is the time!
how not to attach a fixed quality to time: eg. expectating apocalypse
modes of time (or times) not a time
who or what is included
cybernetic --> circular model; a loop that repeats with changes;
scheduling into scheduling --> Hoffnung 3000 festival: groups self-organized the spots of time allocated to them;
how to communicate between diff rhythms while avoiding (to have to do) synchronisation?
A TIMEPLAN
distributed along different windows of time
(a guide, perhaps)
a VOCABULARY?
how to imagine ways of showing time in timespans beyond human working time? smaller (seconds) and larger (years)?
which and whose needs are more urgent?
the child is not finished — so there is dependency
OBSERVATIONS:
- writing time throught rhythms demands constant attention for those who decide time? or is it exactly the openess to be communicated? say when it is TIME
- every move to make things more discreet, creates more voids,
- FANATICISM as a passion for the abstract and simultaneously a lack of ideas? code of conducts are rational, moderate tools, radical in the sense that they try to be concrete enough not to be a lips vow
- how to systematically approach everything that can happen in the flow of time and separate it into discrete instances, which will never replicate the complete experience?
- time is the space of action, waiting, patience, impulses and decisions,
- Sie werden sich im Kreis drehen und der Zeiger steht wechselnd auf Ruhe, Lust, Unstetigkeit, Militanz, Fest, Ruhe, Zufall, Bedürfnisse, Begierde, Räuberei etc.
- um die zeit mit werkzeuge zu bearbeiten /
- TIME as an idea of justice, as corrective, generative and accidental (in the sense of ) — how do you generate common time? or is it the friction, the parallel, pluralist exchange between temporalities? the definition of a NOW, of a practical fanaticism,
- time-sharing, rental models, lies in the origin of the cloud
QUOTES
"The self-defense of revolution is confronted not only by the brutalities but also by the false image of enclosure. The hard materiality of the unreal convinces us that we are surrounded, that we must take possession of ourselves, correct ourselves, remain in the emergency, on a permanent footing, settled, determined, protecting nothing but an illusory right to what we do not have, which the settler takes for and as the commons. But in the moment of right/s the commons is already gone in the movement to and of the common that surrounds it and its enclosure." FRED MOTEN
to paraphrase laurant berlan — if you cannot keep on living the lives we are living, how do we change what it means to have a life
'but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." WILDERSON
Jonatan Habib Engqvist: Let’s start with the notion of anticipation. Sifting through the etymology of the word, it basically entails “to cause to happen sooner,” or “taking care ahead of time;" This original meaning of literally “taking into possession beforehand” suggests an awareness of something to come. Today, we use the term in the sense of expectation or looking forward, but anticipation has an element of preparation or forestallment that should prevent it from simply being used as a synonym for expectation as representation or assumption of a future act or development as if presently existing or accomplished. So it would seem that we’re speaking of potential or prolepsis. This makes me think of how you speak of the physical environments that you create as tools that you construct in order to create spaces of encounter. This might seem instrumental, but on the other hand there will always be something that escapes the design. If the instruments you create allow slippages to happen—moments that exist outside of the program or calendar of the institution—perhaps this distinction between “expectation” and “anticipation” could be fruitful?
