Dominique Roodthooft was awarded the Premier Prix d’Art Dramatique of the Royal Conservatory of Liège in 1993. Engaged in numerous artistic projects, she has explored the various fields of theatrical creation: directing, acting, training as well as the creation of performances for children and travelling shows. In 1994 she founded the Grand-Guignol company (renamed Le corridor in 2004) with which she created many group projects.
Dominique Roodthooft has also worked with numerous companies, such as Arsenic, Transquinquennal and Dito’Dito. Her creations include Le Paradis des chiens (Prix du Théâtre 1998, Jeune compagnie), Le dernier chant d’Ophélie (1999), Sur les traces d’Oskar Serti (2000) and Construire un feu (Prix du Théâtre 2003, Meilleur seul en scène). She has also directed L’Opéra bègue (2004) and Du pain pour les écureuils (2006), based on texts by Pieter De Buysser. She was recently to be seen in Wajdi Mouawad’s Incendies (2008), directed by David Strosberg, and in Patrick Corillon’s Le Diable abandonné (2007-2009), an epic poem in three scenes.
